Security built into every chart

Patient data is protected end to end — encryption in transit and at rest, granular role-based access, and a complete audit log on every interaction, backed by a HIPAA-aligned compliance program.

Overview

Security isn't a bolt-on feature at ZuraMedOps — it's the same infrastructure every chart, claim and message runs through. This page covers what protects patient data, in plain terms, so your security and compliance team has what it needs before a decision is made.

Encryption

Patient data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest, and every connection to and within the platform is encrypted with TLS in transit. There is no point in the pipeline where patient data moves or sits unencrypted.

Access control

Access is role-based and granular down to the workspace level. Front desk, nurse, provider, coder, care manager and admin each see only the screens their job needs, and permissions can be adjusted per staff member as responsibilities change.

  • Six built-in roles, scoped from day one
  • Per-user permission overrides as your team changes

Audit logging

Every view, edit, export and login attempt — successful or failed — is recorded. The complete audit trail for any patient, user or date range can be exported directly from the admin workspace for a compliance review.

HIPAA & BAA

Policies, staff training and technical safeguards are aligned to the HIPAA Security and Privacy Rules. Every clinic receives a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) as part of onboarding, before any patient data is imported.

Backup & availability

Automated, encrypted backups and redundant infrastructure keep the chart available when your clinic needs it, backed by a 99.9% uptime SLA.

Incident response

A dedicated process governs detecting, reporting and responding to security events, with your team notified promptly if anything affecting your data occurs.
